Eat Athens is a food blog created with the purpose of finding good food in Athens, Georgia. Our five founders, all seniors at the University of Georgia, are passionate about good food, great prices and carbs of all types.
Christy Quinton
After four years of studying Journalism, Christy might as well have added a minor in “Proficiency in Eating Breakfast in Athens.” As a lover of any meal that includes bacon and a cup of coffee, she prides herself in knowing every breakfast spot in Athens like the back of her hand. Coming from a small town in South Georgia, Christy came to Athens as a freshman in college with a familiarity and affinity towards small, local brunch spots. This love for the most important meal of the day grew into a hobby, sending her off to a different breakfast table every week. When she’s not eating a plate of French toast, you can find her doing homework in Jittery Joe’s or crying about having to graduate.
Megan Gaffney
By senior year of college, Megan has become an expert in drinks from around Athens. She has worked her way through many original Athens restaurants over her four years at UGA to become a master of finding deals, drinks, and the tastiest of foods. Through her dining experiences she has had to send drinks back, order seconds, and four entrees with one other person just because she had to try a little of everything. Obviously she has been eating food her entire life, but since she turned 21 she has become a proprietor of mixologist and has been determined to drink craft cocktails anytime she has the chance. While she hasn’t been drinking that long, her palate and understanding of what makes a good drink is
Jessica Wurst
As a fourth-year college student, Jessica knows how to eat on a budget. With limited funds and a bottomless stomach, she learned how to dine at some of the best places in Athens without making too much of a dent in her wallet. Her sense of adventure draws her to unique cuisines, such as Ethiopian food from Mannaweenta and Vietnamese food from Mother Pho. In addition to being a foodie, she enjoys exploring the many coffee shops that Athens has to offer. Her coffee addiction and overwhelming college assignments encourage her to find calm environments to catch up with friends in addition to studying. Her expertise makes her a credible food critic, and we hope that her descriptions encourage you to try out some of her favorite places as well!
Ashley Scott
The daughter of a restaurateur and sister-in-law to an executive chef, Ashley takes her role as ‘official family taste tester’ very seriously. She’s learned that good food comes in all shapes, sizes, and cultures, and has a passion for trying new foods and flavors. Motivated by her foodie background, she’s made it her mission to try as many restaurants in her four years in Athens as possible. A health nut, Ashley is a seasoned veteran in finding good food that’s also good for you, but also knows that sometimes, the best self care comes in the form of White Tiger’s banana pudding.
Grace Langella

Grace Langella has truly been eating her way through life since she was born. A lover of Italian food thanks to well, her blood, she lives off of homemade pizza and pasta. She has a MAJOR sweet tooth, which she satisfies with ice cream, brownies and anything else chocolate. While she loves indulging in pricier restaurants around Athens, such as Last Resort and Five and Ten, you can always find her at La Parilla for a $5 quesadilla and margarita.
